TIPS FOR GOOD PHOTOS & OTHER
INFORMATION
- The portrait is painted from your photographs.
- The better the photograph the
better the painting.
- Please send Close-up photographs that are clear and
show eye and face detail.
Send photos showing your pet in different lights
and from different angles so I don't miss any details.
- Indicate which
photo you would like me to paint. Please note on the back of pictures which pose
you would like painted and which shows the best color of eyes and coat.
-
Sometimes the flash makes the pet look lighter than they are and we just need to
know if the picture is not accurate.
- I have done paintings of pets from
bad, far away, blurry pictures and they just don't show the detail that the good
photos produce.
- Some pet owners only have one not so clear picture of
their deceased pet and I understand that. When in that situation, I will
do my best to produce a memorable keepsake of their pet that has passed on.
- When
painting a darker pet, I paint the slate with ivory first and it has black
lettering.
- When painting a lighter colored pet, I leave the natural color
of the slate and it has ivory lettering.
- If you need a slate with multiple
pets, try to get pictures of them individually then these pictures can be used to
create a finished portrait of them.
- Don't be afraid to use treats or toys
to get your pets attention for a good photograph. They will love you for
it.

Special Gift or Occasion. Just specify the date you need it by and I will do my
best to accommodate you.
Remember to order Early for the holidays to make sure we can get your order
done. (November and December are busy painting months for me).
If you do need a
portrait in a hurry we can have you email us a .jpg file. We do not
recommend this procedure but I have had successful paintings from .jpg
files. They really need to be clear photographs.
If you are not happy with the finished product, we will refund your money
within 30 days. Just simply return your portrait for a refund ( excluding
shipping charges ).
If you would like to give a Pet Portrait as a gift and you don't have a photo
of the pet,
may I suggest a Gift Certificate ?
A Gift Certificate makes a Unique Gift for that special pet lover.
Slate pieces are all different, no two pieces are alike. Each has
imperfections that make each one unique. Slate is very Fragile, please
handle with care.
These paintings
are done with acrylic paint and done on old pieces of slate from an Ohio Roof.
